Katsina and Niger Tornadoes At War Over Players Transfer
Fresh controversies have hit the camp of Nigeria Professional Football League strugglers Niger Tornadoes over the signing and unveiling of two Katsina United players Tasiu Lawal and Tsawanya Samuel on Thursday, February 28.
Tornadoes in a bid to avoid relegation this season became active in the transfer window with the signing of several players across the country.
According to the club’s official social media handle, the team posted the arrival of the Katsina United star with a picture of the signing with the caption. “Our son, Tswanya “Baba Daddy” Samuel signed the dotted line this Thursday morning ahead of Nigeria professional football league mid-season transfer windows deadline”
The club also announced the signing of Tasiu Lawal. “We are happy to announce the return of our son Tasiu Lawal to the ikon Allah boy’s camp. Tasiu Lawal put pen to paper this Thursday morning ahead of the NPFL mid-season transfer deadline.”
Meanwhile Katstina United has tackled the unveiling of both players calling it false and should be disregarded. The club on its official social media handle wrote. “Kindly disregard the transfer news linking our players Tasiu Lawal and Tsawanya Samuel to Niger Tornadoes. The news is baseless and false as Katsina United has not established any transfer transaction with any club regarding Tasiu Lawal and Tsawanya Samuel.”
Niger Tornadoes currently sits bottom of the NPFL abridged group A table with seven points after 10 games.
